bound to happen....

What an eventful day. This morning I decided to make lasagna for the boys. Everything was going great, a few phone calls to the greatest sister in the world and a messy kitchen--it was all done! HOWEVER, while cleaning up I went to put away a frying pan which is stored under the stove (in the drawer thing) i slid my finger and split it open! OUCH OUCH OUCH!! Now I've had kitchen opps cuts before and never did they feel as painful as this one...after I got the bleeding under control and could actually see my finger, I realized everything that was suppose to be inside my finger kinda was falling out. NOT COOL!!! Bless his soul Jon came running to my side, first aid kit and all. I, being very stubborn refused the help until I came to the conclusion that i really couldn't do anything on my own. So Dr. Jon put some Boo Boo Bandaids on my finger, unfortunatly they didn't quite stop the bleeding. So with a little, ok ok, maybe a lot from him and my sister I finally went to the clinic. The nurse glued my finger shut and put some bandaids on and sent me on my way. AND after hearing what my sister did today sheesh, i guess something was just bound to happen to me! Sister to Sister, she hurts I hurts. jezzzz!!!
The lasagnas we very yummy!! A+!!! whoot whoot!!

update!!

I sit here every morning and watch the sunrise, from day to day its never the same. Some days it comes shooting up into the sky with such pride, some days it lingers behind the clouds waiting for someone to catch a glimpse of its beauty, some days its just a new color that the sky has never seen, and other days it just sits there holding the mystery of 'what's really out there'.

You all know of the 'wonderful' snow storm your having, yea well we had that a few days before it hit Winnipeg but i'm happy to report the we're having beautiful temps. out here, (ha ha). Anyways, we had the snowplow come and clean our yard. We asked last time that the snow doesn't get piled over top of the fence creating a hill up and over since Rookie likes to roam the yard. Well ask me how impressed I was when I let him out side and 10 mins later go check on him and find him across the street running around like a lost child that can't find his mother! So I call him and he comes running up over and back down the hill. At this point he thinks this is all a game, so about 30-45mins later, of chasing him around the yard I catch him. Needless to say he was on house arrest until Jon got home. Now hes on a cord, hes defiantly NOT impressed!! On a good note he learnt a new trick, he now knows how to speak!! I'm so proud of how well hes adjusted to everything and everyone.

This week has been 'Family week' and every day there has been a dinner catered by the restaurant out here, which by the way is really good! Every night its kinda been a different theme, last night was chinese. A bunch of us decided to go and it was actually really good. It was really nice to see so many people come out and partake in such an awesome event.

GOOD NEWS!!! HOLIDAYS HAVE BEEN APPROVED!!! WHOOT WHOOT!!!

To all you blog readers I’m very sorry I haven’t up dated in awhile. The last week + a bunch of days I’ve been working nights and haven’t been able to get the internet at work. So here’s a little update! Work has been crazy busy people coming and going, court was last week, people going on holidays, etc. Our schedule looks kinda like this Work->sleep->work->work->sleep.
Yesterday was my first day off in about 2 weeks. Now it may sounds like I’m complaining however seeing the pay check every 2 weeks is worth it!! Saturday was catching up day, the laundry has been haunting my dreams and the carpet looked like it was going from beige to black from all of the dog hair. So out came the vacuum and down went the clothes. Check and check!! Whoohoo.
There’s a positive to working nights, I get to see the most amazing sunrise I’ve ever seen. Here’s a picture from one morning; the fog is from the rapids.

So being the nice people that we are, we decided to watch Lewis for about 10 days. Not sure if you remember him; he’s the little black mop dog that we had the honour watching the 4th day we were here. So far he and Rookie are doing well; Rookie has a little sharing problem so he just follows Lewis around the house to make sure he doesn’t touch his toys.

sniff...cough...blah

Thanks for the sick fairy..blah.....
*sniff*Cough*Sigh*
I hate being sick! Especially when I don't have my Nonna here to make me yummy soup. But I have to say that Jon has been a big help. Hes done the dishes these last couple days, help cook supper, let me sleep a little bit longer, did the laundry today. *sigh* he really is the greatest!

Pretty sure this is the first post about wedding stuff! Yes i said it, WEDDING! I remember being a little girl and talking with the girls about when, where, what, etc. Theres so many different options. I'm so excited to go dress, flower, venue etc. shopping! But at the same time we're in no real rush. Winter, spring summer, fall! Hm........

Just do it!

Last night I was sitting on the couch watching some TV when all of a sudden Rookie decides he wants to be a lap dog. He jumps up and plops himself down. It was nice to have that moment, the moment to think about life, the good stuff and the road blocks (I’m sure theirs many more to come). However that one moment was enough to remind me how lucky I am to have what I do.

'Someone holds me safe and warm,
horses prance through a silver storm,
Figures dancing gracefully,
across my memory,'

On my way into work this morning (1am), the northern lights were just dancing across the sky! I’ve never seen them so beautiful before. In this busy world we pay so much attention to the ‘wrong’ things that we miss the beauty. Try and take a minute for yourself, just sit there. Think about something that you haven’t done in awhile, a pedicure, manicure, your hair, getting your legs waxed (you know who you are), bought a nice outfit, gone to the movies, listened to your favourite music, gone to a concert, drinks with a friend. Don’t make excuses----JUST DO IT!

My sister sent me this link, please so check it out. I cannot believe how true it is. Enjoy!

Today was clean up day! Started the day with some yummy french toast and a strawberry smoothie! Popped in the laundry, folded the clean stuff. Now the kitchen, started to do the dishes and noticed some dust on the shelving unit. So I headed over with a cloth to dust it off. This is where the story gets good! On the top of this shelving unit is a plant, which i thought was fake, it's green(and well i havent watered it since we've been here)! So while i was dusting off the shelf i bumped one of the vine things hanging down and a leaf fell off! Some of you may think this is dumb but it was like a 'um are you kidding me' kinda moment! Tina you know exactly what im talkin a out! So up i go on a chair to pull down this mysterious plant, sure enough its REAL! What it is....i have no clue! I hope someone could help!?!?

A feeling...

Have you ever had that feeling? You know, the one that you will never, EVER forget?¿ Do you sometimes feel that feeling, every now and again?

Well tonight I came home from work, made some supper, sat on the couch, scrolled though the channels and came across 'The Bachelor-The final Rose'. Now I know what your all thinking this show has gone on forever, 'enough is enough', well i think that too! BUT since there was nothing else that i wanted to tune into, i put it on. The whole LAST date thing goes on, Meet the parents, etc. Then it comes down to making that final decision. Now i know in my life (of course not like the Tv show) i've had to make many choices when it came down to love. Should I, shouldn't I--Does he love me, loves me not? This world is a scary place, emotions can really scare a person, can really make someone second guess a lot about themselves and others. Its all about the risk, its there for the taking, Learn how to run with it, dont be scared!!!

Jon and i met years ago though friends. Those random get together that would happen frequently between our mutual friends. We're both outgoing people and like to mingle and get to know others, which is how we met. Since that day we have definatly been though many ups and downs, twists and turns. With each experience we have both taken something and learned from it, it's made us stronger. X-mas of 2008 Jonathan proposed, it was one of the happiest days of my life. I will never forget the feelings that i felt, the shakey-ness in his voice, the everything about that moment. This may sound weird but I can just sit here and look at the ring and remember each second of that moment, still getting butterflies in my stomach. Moving in together and away from family and friends has taught us how to lean on eachother for everything. When we're sad, sick, angry, happy, playful, etc. it doesnt matter the feeling we are always there! We have faced challenges since being here but again we have learned a little more about eachother, the next step to communication. But still room for many more of lifes wonderful challenges! I am really happy to be engaged to this wonderful Man. I love you Jonathan, very much, Forever and always.
