a dash of color

Now some of you may know that i am in love with sprinkles, it doesn't matter how old or how young you are. The red, purple, blue, pink, yellow, orange, any color you could imagine. Hold on here though, i'm not talking about any kind of sprinkles, i'm talking about the ones that look like little pebbles (BDI uses them). Well we had someone come up and bring us 24 doughnuts from Tim Hortons. Of course the boys all jumped in and grabbed the ones they wanted, so i casually made my way over and opened the box. WHAM-O a vanilla dip with my fav. sprinkles, can you say HEAVEN!

So we went shopping the other day, $300 later we came home and what we bought all fit on our counter top. Now correct me of i'm wrong but last time I went shopping at Safeway/Superstore/Sobeys/etc., $300 would get food that wouldn't even fit on the counter at home! *sigh* The joys of growing up!

Yesterday we also paid our first actual bill, after calling in the payment we sat beside eachother on the couch. "it's for real babe," he says. At that moment our relationship got a little stronger.
It's a kind of feeling that, well, 'you just know.'

So I was scanning though the channels this evening and came across a CLASSIC, 'Camp Nowhere' with Jonathan Jackson, Andrew Keegan ,Marne Patterson. My sister got me hooked on this movie a long time ago. It's about a group of kids that get together and form their own camp. If you haven't seen this movie and are looking for a funny, cute, just curl up on the couch kinda movie i would suggest this one!

hope you have a great week! And remember....Smile.

A little catch up

I cannot believe its almost March 1st! When moving up here I will admit to thinking it was going to be filled with LONG BORING days. I was definatly wrong, after getting settled and such things have sure picked up! Jon and I both work a lot, which isn't a bad thing! We work in the same office so we get to see eachother all the time and most of the time our days off are the same. The money is really good however I miss hairstying so much! I can't wait till I come home to spice up some styles, including my own (Kari--your on my list baby).

Last week Jon and I escorted 30+ Rangers down to Points North Landing about 180km south from here.

It took us about 6hrs to get there, we we're doing 40km/hr. BLAH! However it only took us 3hrs to come home! It was nice to see the country side, heres a picture from the ride back! The sunsets out here are indescribable, the colors are amazing. Of course my little camera can't capture the beautiful colors so this will just have to do.

Heres a pretty cool quote from the one and only:
'I'm selfish impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.'- Marilyn Monroe

I believe

One of my very, very good friends, Kayla e-mailed this to me, it's a must read. Make sure you read every word and understand.
--Enjoy--
Things we should believe
A Birth Certificate shows we were born
A Death Certificate shows we died
Pictures show we lived!

I Believe...
Just because two people argue,
Doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
Doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
We don't have to change friends if
We understand friends change.

I Believe....
No matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt
You every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
True friendship continues to grow, even over
The longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe...
You can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life.

I Believe...
it's taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
You should always leave loved ones with
Loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...
You can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
We are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
Either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
Heroes are the people who do what has to be done
When it needs to be done, regardless of consequences.

I Believe...
Money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
My best friend and I can do anything or nothing
And have the best time.

I Believe...
Sometimes the people you expect to kick you
When you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
Sometimes when I'm angry, I have the right to be angry,
But that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
And what you've learned from them, and less to do
With how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others;
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself..

I Believe...
No matter how bad your heart is broken,
The world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are,
But we are responsible for whom we become.

I Believe...
You shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret.
It could change your life forever.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different..

I Believe...
Your life can be changed in a matter of
Hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
Even when you think you have no more to give, when
A friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
Credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...
The people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the most of anything.'

update!

Guess who got to drive again!(jezz i miss my cherry BOMB) Wow did it ever feel weird sitting behind the steering wheel. I haven’t driven anything since we got out here 35days ago! Now some of you may think that hasn’t been very long, but for someone who LOVES driving it feels like an eternity! Next step is to check out the trails out here! They only have 2 Polaris’ the rest are Skidoos I believe. The trails are pretty basic I’ve been told, accept that there are a lot of spots that have streams running and never really freeze completely, unless you know where they are you got to be extra careful! *sigh* I just want to be able to feel that feeling when your on the most beautiful trail with nothing around you but trees and snow. The one where all your worries in the world drift away, the feeling of floating on a big fluffy marshmallow, that we all love...SNOW! Some may not understand, but it’s a feeling I’ve always had driving a sled. Since my daddy introduced me to them, taught me how to handle, respect and love such an amazing machine. A machine that can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
Jon and I made such a delicious supper last night. We made homemade hamburgers with homemade fries and salad! I got so excited when we went shopping, I found LETTUCE that didn’t have a speck of brown on it! YUMMY! Tonight we’re going over to our neighbours for STEAKS, I’m making my dads secret scalloped potatoes and of course cookies, oatmeal coconut chocolate chip cookies! I never knew this before because I was always so dependent on everyone else for suppers and such that I never took the time to create and invent things of my own but I LOVE TO COOK/BAKE! It’s one of my new found hobbies! Up here it’s extremely difficult to come up with things to eat. We don’t have the convinces, the store is only open from this time to this time anything after or before your ‘SOL’ and it only has certain things to choose from, If you want mayo or ketchup it’ll cost you about 8$ for a small bottle (glad we brought that stuff from Wpg). The closest McDonalds or Subway is about 14hrs away! If anyone is looking for a fast food cut off, this is the place you need to be! Back in Winnipeg, driving past all those gross but delicious places, living in the land of convenience, who would want to make dinner at home! Here all you smell is the fresh crisp air of the Great white North (Tina I know you’re going to have a comment, keep it to yourself because I already hear you saying it, lol).Rookie’s doing great! He’s still working on his fetch game but it’s getting better. He thinks going to get the ball and teasing you by running back and forth is payback for making him go get it! He’s got sit mastered! Jon taught him a new one that he picked up almost immediately, HIGH 5! Down and stay are almost 100%! We’ve been working on ‘take it nice’, again almost there. Sometimes he forgets and gets excited!
Rookie has been an amazing addition to our relationship, Jon and I both share the responsibly. It’s nice to see him with rookie, In a way I believe he’s a stress reliever for him, they love going outside together and rookie loves helping Jon out with new little projects.
I hope everyone is keeping well! Miss you all!

I Challenge You!!

It’s crazy how people act in certain situations. Why is it that when people are feeling defenceless they start to see the whole picture, not just the pretty one they've painted. I sometimes wonder what people are thinking when they act or react to things. This work experiance has given me a whole new perspective on things, on life. Listening to people talk about their life story, pled their case, and/or just want to hear another voice to reassure them that there’s still life beyond 4 walls. I never heard a people so persuasive, lifeless, numb. Being raised with family and friends that show love, respect, maturity, responsibility and so much more, I’ve never looked at the ‘other side.’ This world is filled with so much anger, hate and poverty. Never in my entire life have I ever thought places like this existed in Canada, we see poverty all over the TV’s, ‘donate to this fund,’ ‘adopt this child,’ what about right here in our back yards, it never seems real until your smacked in the face with it, you feel it. Next time you want to pick an argument or say something hurtful, remember there are people out there that don’t know the meaning of love, respect, honestly, responsibility and they never got the opportunity to learn. Instead of taking advantage of hurt take advantage of love.

I CHALLENGE you to say loving words when your angry!
Post comments and share your story of loving words!!

Ahh..Roots!!

Oh Gosh, I have massive roots, 2 inches!! Now I may have to rethink this whole growing out my hair color thing! The color differance isn't too bad, my natural hair is just lighter and hm.. DULL! I think I saw a *shiny* one, which is not a good thing! Krista i hope you have the lawn-mower ready when i come home, 'cuz this head of hair may need a complete turn around!!
Work today was pretty good, started reading this book my sister let me borrow. 3 1/2hrs later I put it down, What a good book so far!!!

"Someday everything will make perfect sense. So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile though the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happenes for a reason.'
